Tom Barbereau
Researcher, pragmatist, critical thinker.
I research the governance of digital technologies, with a particular interest in decentralised (quasi distributed) systems. In my work, I provide answers to organisational and socio-political questions in the implications and implementations of digtial technologies. I have a background in information systems management (PhD) and the sociology of technologies (MSc).
Since 2024, I work as a scientist specialist at the Dutch Organisation for Applied Scientific Research (TNO), Centre for Societal Innovation and Strategy (Vector) as part of the research group on digital governance and regulation. I am a research fellow of the Institute for Information Law (IViR) at the University of Amsterdam. Before, I was a researcher of the Interdisciplinary Centre for Reliability, Security, and Trust (SnT) at the University of Luxembourg.
